This week’s decision by the Scottish people will have a momentous impact upon the construction sector in Scotland, which accounts for 10% of all construction spend in the UK. The decision was in the balance as Building went to press. According to an analysis by Barbour ABI (above), more than a fifth of contracts could be put at risk by a “yes”, with the SNP arguing autonomy for Holyrood (pictured) would presage better economic performance.
