Architect Broadway Malyan has delivered the concept masterplan for a 17km2 extension to Sadr City in Baghdad. The scheme, worth $10bn (£6.12bn), will be built in the area formerly known as being one of the most dangerous in Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein. London Bridge: Grand station
Network Rail has submitted a planning application to redevelop London Bridge Station. The submission to Southwark council includes plans for a new concourse underneath the station’s platforms that will be larger than the pitch at Wembley stadium. A decision on the planning application is expected to be made later this year. Work will begin in 2013 and is expected to take five years to complete.
