PLP Architecture and FaulknerBrowns Architects have been appointed to design Hammerson and Ballymore’s £800m Bishopsgate Goodsyard development in London.

The developers have also appointed a clutch of other firms including engineers WSP, Hoare Lea and URS and consultants Gardiner and Theobald and Turner and Townsend.

The mixed-use development stretches over 10 acre site in Shoreditch and is set to deliver up to 2,000 new homes, retail leisure developments and a new public park.

Architect Terry Farrell & Partners which did the masterplan for the scheme will continue to work on the project while PLP designs the first stage of the residential element, with FaulknerBrowns Architect designing the retail parts of the scheme.

Robert Allan, project director at Hammerson said: “The Goodsyard is a unique regeneration opportunity and we have selected a team which we feel will deliver an inspiring mixed-use scheme which is fitting of its location and importance within London.”

Other firms working on the scheme are planning consultant DP9, Chris Dyson Architects, designer Peter Stewart Consultancy, project manager Second London Wall, animator Miller Hare and GIA.
