Developer Capco wins approval from second London borough for £8bn scheme to redevelop Earls Court

Earl's Court

Developer Capco has won planning approval from the second London borough covered by its £8bn scheme to redevelop Earls Court in West London.

The 77-acre project will create a 7,500-home neighbourhood, along with offices, leisure, hotel and retail space, a primary school, library, an integrated health centre and five-acre public park.

Capco plans to demolish the famous Earls Court Exhibition Centre to make way for the scheme.

The developer won online planning approval from the other London borough covered by the scheme – Hammersmith and Fulham – in September.

Ian Hawksworth, chief executive of Capco, said: “We are delighted that the Earls Court Masterplan has now been approved by both RBKC and LHBF.

“The project has real momentum and we look forward to working with the local authorities to deliver Sir Terry’s vision for a new urban quarter in this exciting part of London.”
