Consultant has been appointed to the 3,400-home project
Consultant Gardiner & Theobald has been appointed on the £5.5bn Battersea Power Station redevelopment, amid continuing signs construction work is likely to start.
Rob Tincknell, managing director of Treasury Holdings, confirmed that G&T had been appointed to the 3,400-home project, which is seeking investors to get a final go-ahead.
The news follows the appointment last week of landscape architects LDA Design and Exterior Architecture to the project and the hiring of Nick Williams, former One Hyde Park development director, as chief development officer.
In January, Treasury Holdings appointed Ian Simpson Architects and de Rijke Marsh Morgan to build out the masterplan of architect Rafael Viñoly.
Treasury Holdings last week restructured its ownership of the £500m site to allow a new equity investor to buy in, providing the funding to deliver the project. Speculation has grown that Shard and Chelsea Barracks developer Qatari Diar may invest in the project.
A source close to the project said: “There’s really starting to be a feeling that Battersea might go - there’s probably about 50 consultants now working on it all told and things are looking very positive.”
