Architect Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners has become a limited liability partnership.

It will now be known as Grimshaw Architects LLP and will trade as Grimshaw. Nicholas Grimshaw will take on the role of chairman and Christopher Nash will be managing partner.

A spokesperson for the partnership said: “The move to an LLP secures the future of Grimshaw. It creates a more democratic structure and allows the flexibility to appoint new partners, allowing the firm to motivate and retain staff and ensuring a sustainable future.”

Previous directors Neven Sidor, Ingrid Bille, Mark Middleton and Jolyon Brewis have been made senior equity partners.
