Contract win is architect’s fourth major aviation project, after Heathrow, Cork and Dublin jobs

HOK London has won the role of master architect on Gatwick Airport’s £1bn investment programme.

The contract is the architect’s fourth major aviation project, after working on new terminals at Heathrow, Cork and Dublin.

Raymond Melee, director of capital projects at Gatwick commented, “HOK was chosen as master architect for their considerable experience in airport planning and design, and expertise in delivering projects of this scale and complexity.

“Their team showed a real understanding of goals behind the project and we are delighted to have them on board as we take another exciting step forward towards transforming Gatwick into London’s airport of choice for the future.”

HOK director Andrew Barraclough said: “HOK is committed to operational and architectural excellence and has a strong track record of delivering complex aviation and transportation projects that prioritise striking design with functional and practical considerations.

“We’re delighted to have been selected for the role of master architect and look forward to working with Gatwick to transform the airport and make the passenger journey through the airport easier and more enjoyable.”
