Mark Elton became an Associate Director at ECD in 2004, and was designated Head of Sustainable Design in 2008. He now represents the practice on the RIBA Sustainable Futures committee and as a Founder member of the Passivhaus Trust.

Mark is leading on the development of Passivhaus design within ECD and is an accredited European Passivhaus Designer. The potential for reducing carbon emissions through retrofit of the existing stock is also of particular interest. ECD are currently implementing 13 of the 86 Retrofit for the Future’ ‘exemplars, as well as other exemplar tower block retrofit schemes. Mark is an RIBA representative in the development of Green Deal with DECC.
