  • TRADA has updated two information sheets about dealing with fungi and insects in timber. The TRADA Technology Wood Information Sheet (WIS), which is now available for download from the website, covers the more important, but rarer, types of fungi and insects that can affect timber in the UK. The other sheet, Insect Pests In Houses, looks at insects that are more common in the UK. TRADA members can download the sheets in PDF format free of charge. The cost is £12 for non-members.
  • Eurocell has unveiled an improved building plastics catalogue. The company catalogue offers a range of UPVC windows, UPVC doors, UPVC conservatories, guttering, UPVC soffits and fascias. The new catalogue now has a photograph alongside each product and an alphabetical product index.
  • Weyerhaeuser Products has been approved as an overseas associate member of the Timber Trade Federation (TTF). The European operation of international forest products company, Weyerhaeuser, had supplied evidence of a Responsible Purchasing Policy (RRP) to TTF members. The company will now formally provide this information as an associate member of the TTF.
  • Stoakes Systems has published a 48-page brochure covering the firm’s Kalwall skylighting system. Aimed at architects and designers, it gives details of the firm’s portfolio of translucent wall and roof solutions. Kalwall is a light-transmitting composite material for cladding
