The Brent Cross developer is to help Haringey Council create a new town centre

Haringey council has confirmed its strategic partnership with King’s Cross and Brent Cross developer Argent Related for a £1bn transformation of Tottenham Hale in north London.

The partnership will deliver 800 homes – for market sale, build to rent and affordable – around the area’s transport hub, which will ultimately include a Crossrail 2 station.

Alongside the new mixed-tenure homes, will be shops, cafes, restaurants and community facilities, including a health centre and improved green spaces.

The regeneration of Tottenham Hale represents the first phase of London’s largest Housing Zone and is the latest of a string of major investments in the area.

Mace is currently on site delivering a £400m new Populous-designed stadium for Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur, while the borough has shortlisted three developers for a wider £2bn 5,000 home regeneration programme.

The three shorlisted teams are Lendlease, a pairing between Morgan Sindall and Affinity Sutton, and a third team comprising housing group Circle Pinnacle, Catalyst and US investor Starwood Capital.
