Mansell subsidiary will build 324 homes for Kensington Housing Trust

Balfour Beatty has won a £65m deal with the Kensington Housing Trust for the redevelopment of the Wornington Green Estate in London.

Its Mansell subsidiary will build 324 homes as part of the design and build deal, 55% of which will be affordable housing. Construction work will begin in Autumn 2010 with completion in 2014.

Mansell will build 324 high-quality homes and provide improved facilities and open space as part of the overall Wornington Green regeneration scheme. Fifty five percent of the homes will be for affordable allocation and forty five percent for open market sale.

The overall Wornington Green regeneration scheme, which is estimated to be worth over £250m, will provide up to 1,000 homes and commercial space. Work on further phases of the scheme will be awarded later in the year.

Balfour Beatty chief executive Ian Tyler, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this project and look forward to working with the Kensington Housing Trust in partnership with local stakeholders to enhance the Wornington Green area for the community.”
