Bam Construction has won a £25m contract to build a new factory for Rolls-Royce in Rotherham.

A spokesman confirmed the contractor has been appointed to the job to build a 42,000 sq ft plant to manufacture turbine blades for jet engines.

He said: “It’s very significant for us because we have not got a pre-existing relationship with Rolls-Royce.

“It gives us an opportunity to impress them.

“It is not just this job for us – it’s an opportunity to show Rolls-Royce what BAM can do as a contractor.”
