Contractor lands presitigious job to build museum designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma

Contractor Bam has been named as the preferred bidder to build the £45m V&A Museum of Design in Dundee.

The appointment still needs to be signed off by the city council’s policy and resources committee on Monday evening.

Douglas Keillor, regional director for Bam Construction in Scotland, said it was “great to hear” the firm had been recommended to build the “project of international significance”.

Philip Long, director of V&A Dundee, said: “Bam Construction has an excellent track record in the delivery of prestigious cultural projects in Scotland. 

He added: “We are all delighted to see this next chapter in our story begin.”
