Contractor to build luxury hotels in the heart of east London

Citizen M Hotel

Bouygues UK has won two hotel jobs in east London worth a combined £47m.

The UK arm of the French contracting group has won a £27m contract to build a 120-room luxury hotel for Gansevoort Hotel Group and a £20m scheme to build a 216-room Citizen M hotel (pictured), both in the Shoreditch area of east London.

Both projects are scheduled for completion in summer 2016.

Commenting on the Citizen M project win, Bouygues UK managing director for construction in London and the South East, Arnaud Bekaert, said: “This builds on our group’s existing relationship with the CitizenM brand internationally, where we delivered their hotel at Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris.

“CitizenM is consumer-led, with a distinctive style and the team here is delighted to be working on the new Shoreditch hotel to welcome more ‘Citizens’ to London.

“The contract also shows we are reinforcing our presence in up and coming parts of the capital.”
