House builder rings changes on day new chief exec starts

On the day Greg Fitzgerald started as chief executive of Bovis Homes, the embattled housebuilder yesterday announced it has appointed a 30 year industry veteran to head up its southern arm.

Steve Jones has spent more than three decades in the industry and his CV includes stints at Crest Nicholson, St James Homes and Bellway. He was most recently a regional managing director for Churchill Retirement Living.

The Southern region is part of the firm’s East division and its managing director James Watson said: “Steve’s appointment is a continuation of our drive to employ the best possible talent to take our regional teams forward.”

The Southern region is based in Kent and sells homes across the south of England.
