Chief executive Paul Sheffield says Kier is looking beyond BRIC countries for future growth

Kier’s chief executive, Paul Sheffield, has revealed that the firm is taking a step back from BRIC countries in favour of chasing work in more unusual locations as part of the group’s global expansion strategy.

Sheffield told Building in our second View from the Top interview, that winning work in mature markets such as Brazil and China is extremely tough for UK firms and so Kier will focus on less developed locations like Jamaica.

He also talked candidly about the construction market’s year ahead, both in the UK and overseas and revealed what he thinks the industry can expect over the next six to 12 months and beyond.
