Architect releases aerial image of city four times the size of Manhattan Island

This is architect Broadway Malyan’s plan for an 80,000-acre site in Malaysia from a plane window. Property owner’s Sime Darby’s Vision Valley, near Kuala Lumpur, will cover a site four times the size of Manhattan Island and is set to delivered over the next 30 years for the country’s largest land owner.

The architect describes the scheme as an example of a network city, “which removes the centralised focus of control.”

The settlement will have parks at the heart of each region around which “economic urban villages” will be clustered, providing opportunities for inhabitants while they are always near open space.
