All the winners and runners-up from the biggest awards event in the construction industry

Last night more than a thousand construction professionals gathered for the 16th annual Building Awards, the biggest construction industry event of the year at the glittering awards ceremony at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London.

Among the winners were Wates Group, which scooped the coveted Contractor of the Year (over £300m turnover) prize, Cyril Sweett, taking the Consultant of the Year (more than 100 staff) trophy and Edwards Culinan Architects, who were named Architect of the Year.

Carillion boss John McDonough was honoured with the title of Chief Executive of the Year while Tim Byles, chief executive of Partnerships for Schools, was named Personality of the year.
