Two developments will add 1.7 million sq ft of office space to east London financial centre

New Canary Wharf towers

Two proposed Canary Wharf tower developments have been given the green light by Tower Hamlets planners.

One Bank Street (pictured, right), which has been granted full planning permission, will be a 700,000 sq ft office building with 27 storeys. Site enabling works began earlier this year and construction will begin later in 2015. The architect is Kohn Pederson Fox.

One Park Place (pictured, left), which has received outline planning permission, will comprise just over 1 million sq ft of office floor space. It was designed by Squires & Partners. Tower Hamlets will now determine a reserved matters application for the building. Canary Wharf said it has “no immediate plans” to develop the site.

At One Bank Street, Bachy Soletanche and Expanded Piling are already constructing early enabling works. Canary Wharf Contractors will carry out the main construction works.
