Contractor’s order book hits £3.9bn

Costain has posted a record half-year order book of £3.9bn, up 5% on the previous year.

In a trading statement the firm, which is redeveloping London Bridge station (pictured), said repeat orders represented 90% of its order book.

Costain also said it has preferred bidder status on over £400m worth of projects in the infrastructure market and that tendering levels remain high.

The firm will publish its half-year results in August.
