Capital’s design watchdog announces 26 architects to sit on urban design framework

Design for London has revealed a 26-strong panel of architects to sit on its urban design framework panel.

Whittled down from a longlist of 42, the panel mixes large practices such as Foster + Partners, Allies and Morrison and Stanton Williams with smaller, up-and-coming practices like Mae, East and Acme Space. Notable omissions from the longlist include Edward Cullinan, Grimshaw, and Patel Taylor.

It is unclear what design work framework architects will be required to do, although Design for London has previously said it will carry out design policy production, research and design-related feasibility studies, landscape and public realm design, architecture, urban planning and master planning for the mayor’s office and the London Development Authority.
