The giant German consultancy is pursing expansion plans

German-based consultancy Drees & Sommer has acquired London and Amsterdam-based firm Procore.

The 40-strong acquired firm provides services including project management, workplace, cost and facilities consultancy to clients such as Oracle, Standard Chartered Bank and Cisco in the UK.

Drees & Sommer, one of Germany’s largest construction consultants, said that following a transitional period Procore would become fully integrated into the group.

The German consultant said it had acquired the firm as part of its plans to expand its European market presence and range of services.

Last year the €285m-turnover (£262m) Stuttgart-based project manager and engineer opened its first office in the UK in London despite the outcome of the Brexit vote, deciding that it was more important for the firm to have a proper foothold in the country.

Steffen Szeidl, ‎board member at Drees & Sommer, said: “With this acquisition and the increased expertise, especially in the field of workplace consulting, we are strengthening our leading position in the field of property consulting throughout Europe.”

Procore founder Michel de Haan added: “Thanks to the cooperation there are opportunities for new business. With Drees & Sommer and its network of 41 locations worldwide, we can serve existing clients – including global corporate groups – on a more international level, acquire new client groups and successfully tackle more extensive projects with a larger range of services.”
