Images unveiled of seven-storey design for north London college

Barnet College has unveiled the first images of its planned new campus for Colindale, in north London.

The seven-storey design by architect RMJM will accommodate a variety of curriculum activities at Barnet College, as well as providing facilities open to the local community including a hair and beauty salon, hospitality facilities, and a restaurant.

Two current centres of the college will be relocated to the new development, which is closer to Colindale underground station.

Identified as an "opportunity area" by the Mayor of London, Colindale is undergoing a phase of regeneration with plans to build 10,000 homes and create hundreds of jobs.

RMJM director Matt Cartwright said: “This new campus for Barnet College is an important milestone for the college and for the local community.

It will lead the way in transforming Colindale, urban regeneration must start at a community level and this new campus aims to deliver outstanding community facilities as well as its all important education function.”
