Shed collapse at residential building site in Hunan province adds to China's toll of construction fatalities

Four construction workers were killed and two injured in China yesterday when a temporary shed collapsed at a residential building site.

The workers were buried in debris when a wall toppled onto a shed in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, just after 11am, according to state press.

Two died at the site and another two died on the way to hospital. The injured are thought to be in a stable condition.

An investigation has been launched into the incident - the latest in a string of fatal construction accidents in the country.

Last week, 23 workers were killed in separate accidents in Xiapu and Chongqing.
