Contractor’s Morrison division appointed preferred bidder on schools

Galliford Try’s Scottish subsidiary Morrison Construction has been appointed preferred contractor on two secondary school projects worth £48m by Hub South East Scotland.

After financial close Morrison, will build Kelso High School in the Scottish Borders, and Newbattle Community High School, Midlothian.

Work will commence in 2014, and completion of construction is expected in 2016.

The contractor’s facilities management business has also been selected preferred bidder to provide maintenance services for the two schools, which is expected to be worth a further £17m over 25 years.
