JV with Black & Veatch is named as preferred contractor on storm overflow transfer scheme

Galliford Try has won a £60m Scottish contract with joint venture partner Black & Veatch.

The company has been announced as preferred contractors on the Meadowhead Stevenson work package 6. The work will involve transferring storm overflows from Irvine and Kilmarnock town centres to Meadowhead waste water treatment works.

Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of the UK-based contractor, said: “We are delighted to secure this appointment with Scottish Water, which builds on the track record of our infrastructure business in Scotland, carried out through Morrison Construction, and demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our position as Scotland's leading infrastructure contractor.”
