Contractor appointed to build six schools in London under the Priority School Building Programme
Galliford Try has won a £45m contract to build six schools in London, the third batch of schools the firm has won through the government’s flagship school building programme.
The schools, being build under the government’s Priority School Building Programme, are in the London boroughs of Greenwich, Lewisham and Croydon.
The win is the firm’s third batch priority schools since it was appointed to the Education Funding Agency’s (EFA) main contractor framework last year.
The firm picked up a £48m batch in North and North-east Lincolnshire in September and a £36m batch in Hull earlier this year.
Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: “It is great news that once again we have been trusted by our partners at the EFA to deliver these much needed new school buildings for the teachers, pupils and parents in south London.
“Our education offering continues to go from strength to strength and we look forward to furthering our relationship with the EFA across the country.”
