Simpson & Haugh-designed cluster gets planning approval

Manchester skyscraper

Plans to build a cluster of towers in Manchester designed by Simpson Haugh & Partners, including the city’s tallest, have been given the go-ahead by the city council.

The tallest apartment block would rise to 200m, esclipsing the city’s current tallest building, 168m-high Beetham Tower.

The scheme is by developer Renaker Build and includes 1,500 apartments, basement car parking, a tennis court, swimming pool and retail units. WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff is building services engineer.

Manchester City Council said the scheme would be “a striking landmark development” that would regenerate the area.
