Lambeth Council approves proposed garden bridge over the River Thames

A proposed ‘garden bridge’ over the River Thames has moved a step closer after Lambeth Council approved the plans yesterday.

The Thomas Heatherwick-designed £150m bridge now needs the backing of Westminster Council, where the bridge connects on the north bank of the river, with a decision expected next month.

The crossing would link London’s Southbank with Temple.
