The ceremonial laying of the foundation stone of the Axel Springer building in Berlin took place on Tuesday

The site of the new Axel Springer building in Berlin, Germany, as ceremonial laying of the foundation stone took place on Tuesday.

The building has been designed by Dutch architect and OMA founder Rem Koolhaas (pictured, below), who was present at the ceremony.

The finished building will be 13 stories high and provide working space for some 3,500 employees.
