Exclusive: Lend Lease has won a £35m contract to build a new office building for oil giant BP in Surrey

Lend Lease is understood to have beaten off competition from Galliford Try, Mace, Skanska, and Bam Construction for the job, which is worth £35m.

The 9,350 sq m, four-storey office building, designed by architect Scott Brownrigg, is part of BP’s International Centre for Business and Technology in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey.

The project received planning permission in August.

The design of the envelope of the building incorporates passive sustainable design with external solar shading and glass fins which will respond to different daylight conditions.

BP confirmed that Lend Lease had been appointed to the job.

Lend Lease declined to comment.
