S&P-designed project provides leisure and sport facilities
A series of sports ‘pods’ have opened to the public in the Lincolnshire town of Scunthorpe.
The leisure facilities designed by S&P provide swimming pools, a sports hall, fitness studios and function rooms.
The development for North Lincolnshire council was project managed by Arcadis, with Buro Happold providing structural engineering consultancy.
Councillor John Briggs, deputy leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “I’m very pleased that The Pods is now fully open to the public. The facilities are excellent and must be seen to appreciate.
“When the doors opened to the public, it’s been very busy and received some very positive comments about the facilities.”
