Contractor confirmed on major scheme in Berkshire town

Bracknell retail quarter

Mace has been confirmed as main contractor on the £200m regeneration of Bracknell town centre.

The developer for the Northern Retail Quarter scheme is Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP), a 50:50 joint venture between Legal & General and Schroder.

BRP’s development agreement with Bracknell Forest Council went unconditional last week.

Construction will start on site in late March, with the earthworks, and erection of the steel superstructure due to get under way in June. The scheme is set to officially opening in spring 2017.

Gareth Lewis, chief operating officer for construction at Mace, said: “Mace has a strong track record locally, having completed the construction of Garth Hill College in 2011. The regeneration project will have a positive impact on Bracknell and local community.”
