Rem Koolhaas-designed arts and events space in downtown Dubai opens doors

Rem Koolhaas’s OMA has completed work on the its first project in the UAE with a new events space at the Alserkal Avenue arts hub in downtown Dubai.

Named Concrete, the new space has been designed to host international arts and culture events in the emirate.

Alserkal Avenue, which was formed 10 years ago, said its tie-up with OMA is designed to promote art and architecture in Dubai and the wider UAE.

The 600sq m space has double-height ceilings, movable walls and a translucent facade.
