Hill Street Holdings submits plans for 20 acre technology park

Oxford Technology Park

Developer Hill Street Holdings has submitted plans for a £90m technology park outside Oxford.

The UMC-designed Oxford Technology Park will create 334,000 sq ft of research and development space at Kidlington on the northern outskirts of Oxford.

The 20 acre park comprises two Grade A, three-storey buildings with office, research and development and innovation space totalling 81,015 sq ft, plus a range of two-storey research and development buildings behind these.

Subject to planning consent, work would start on site in early 2015, with a phased completion until 2025.

Angus Bates, chief executive of Hill Street Holdings, said: “Subject to approval, this scheme will offer much needed, bespoke accommodation for hi-tech, R&D organisations in one of the world’s major research hubs. It will also bring 1,250 jobs to the local area, positively contributing to the local economy.”

The planning and promotion of the site has been undertaken by consultant Bloombridge. Partner Richard Cutler said: “We expect the development to attract pharmaceutical, biotech and high performance engineering firms who want to enhance their R&D and production capability, in a format where they can have total freedom on how their space is configured.”
