Rochester Riverside Countrywide and Hyde

Housebuilder Countryside and housing association Hyde have submitted plans for a £400m mixed-use scheme in Rochester, Kent.

The masterplan designed by HTA Design includes up to 1,400 homes and 1,200 sq m of commercial space, as well as a primary school and nursery.

In addition the scheme will deliver a new pedestrian footbridge over the river and over four hectares of new open space over 21ha of brownfield land between Rochester Bridge and Doust Way.

Detailed planning permission is also being sought for the first three phases designed by architect BPTW, which includes 489 homes, a hotel and 885 sq m of commercial space.

Rochester Riverside is part of Medway council’s regeneration programme.
