View from my office: John Rawlinson
The Faithful+Gould regional director overlooks Birmingham’s last decade iconic schemes
What do you see?
My view from the top floor of the Axis in Birmingham includes many of the most iconic developments constructed in the city during the last decade, including the Mailbox, the Cube and Brindleyplace; all of which Faithful+Gould project and cost managed. I can also see the on-going improvement works at New Street station which we are also cost managing.
What floor are you on?
On the 10th floor.
What are you working on?
I’m currently managing the regeneration of the Moor, Sheffield; which will transform the heart of the city over the next decade. It’s a very exciting project to be managing as it will have a significant economic, visual and social impact on the area.
What’s on your desk?
It’s covered with the usual folders and papers (so much for the paperless office!). I also have a picture of my wife and son and the new Liverpool FC fixture list…. And not forgetting my iPhone, which keeps me in touch with everything that’s going on.
What’s your all time favourite view?
Standing on top of any of the mountains looking over Lake Garda, Italy, which I first did on my honeymoon and will hopefully do again soon!
