Launch this month in Chennai

The RIBA is opening its fourth branch overseas with a new chapter in India.

It already has chapters in the US, Hong Kong and the Gulf .

Its plans for India will be officially launched at a student architecture convention in Chennai at the end of this month.

RIBA head of international chapters Chloe Sadler said: “We currently have just under 100 members in India who are working tirelessly to uphold the principles of the RIBA and share the importance of good design.

“This new chapter will cement the RIBA’s commitment to support our members in India through knowledge exchange and the celebration of architecture.”

Sadler said the RIBA will be working with the Indian Institute for Architects on the initiative.
