The British Council for School Environment’s chief executive Nusrat Faizullah has stepped down from the organisation

The British Council for School Environment’s chief executive Nusrat Faizullah has announced she will be leaving the organisation at the end of November.

In a statement Faizullah, who has been with the organisation for just over a year, said: “The BCSE is in a stronger position than it was when I joined a year ago. I have worked hard to ensure a secure and productive future for the organisation and look forward to seeing how the organisation progresses in the future.”

BCSE chair Rachel Jones, said: “We’d like to thank Nusrat for her commitment and hard work over the last 14 months, and wish her all the best for the future.”

“The board of trustees have asked Sharon Wright to join the BCSE as interim CEO for three months.

“Dr Wright has a long track record working in the education design and construction field, and has been involved with the BCSE since its inception. She has already started working alongside the chief executive to help facilitate a smooth handover.

“Her appointment will allow the BCSE to continue its work on the role and development of learning environments that support children, teachers and communities.”

The organisation expects to make a long term appointment in the new year.
