Contractor to start on site before Christmas on 165,000 sq ft building in Old Street

Contractor John Sisk and Son will start on site before Christmas on the £70m “Tower” office job after developer Helical Bar bought out its joint venture partner on the scheme, Crosstree.

In a statement to the City announcing the transaction, Helical said work will begin on the 165,000 sq ft The Tower building - the second phase of its £250m Bower office and retail development - before the end of the year.

Construction is due to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2017.

AHMM are the architects on the scheme, while Arcadis is the quantity surveyor and Waterman the structural engineers.
