Consortiums led by Bougyues and Lend-Lease are the remaining contenders for role of development partner at Stratford City

The shortlist for development partner for the £4bn Stratford City scheme has been reduced to two consortiums led by Bougyues and Lend-Lease.

The Olympic Delivery Authority and London & Continental Railways announced today that the two remaining contenders are Bougyues, in consortium with Barratt, and the Lend-Lease team, which includes East Thames Group and First Base. The list has been cut from a shortlist of three, which included a consortium of Royal Bank of Scotland, Kier and Bellway Homes.

The successful bidder will be responsible for delivery of the entire Stratford City scheme outside of Zone 1 - the retail led development to the south of Stratford International station. This includes the athletes' village for the London 2012 Games and the bulk of the scheme's legacy housing, commercial and hotel developments.

The two remaining consortiums will now go forward to the next stage of detailed negotiation. LCR and ODA will be making a further joint statement to announce the winning bidder within the next two months.
