Appointed 13 development partners to redevelop an initial 75 sites across 300 acres

Transport for London is planning to bring forward “several decades” of commercial and housing work through its newly launched property framework, the client’s commercial development director Graeme Craig has told Building.

Earlier this month Transport for London (TfL) appointed 13 development partners - including Balfour Beatty, Canary Wharf Group and Berkeley Group - to redevelop an initial 75 sites across 300 acres of its 5,700-acre property portfolio.

Craig described this first tranche of projects as “just the tip of the iceberg”, adding the client could potentially redevelop thousands of acres.

Craig anticipates that TfL’s partners will take the lead on procuring contractors and consultants, but the organisation could take on a more hands-on role as its programme develops.
