Contractor will refurbish and extend the grade II-listed High Storrs secondary school

Vinci Constructio has won a £25m contract on the Sheffield Building Schools for the Future programme.

The firm’s construction arm will refurbish and extend the grade II listed High Storrs secondary school.

Unlisted parts of the school will be demolished and rebuilt over three phases.

Work will begin this summer and is expected to be completed by 2011.

Sheffield’s BSF £320m programme will see every school in the city rebuilt or refurbished by 2015.
