Wates Construction has reached financial close on a £64m contract for a research centre in Norwich.
The NBBJ-designed project will include a five-storey development, creating clinical and research spaces to accommodate 400 scientists and clinicians and allow for 40,000 endoscopy procedures to take place every year.
Work is already underway, with the scheme set to provide a variety of specialist laboratories, lecture theatres and offices.
Photovoltaic panels and ground source heat pumps have also been incorporated into the design to improve energy efficiency.
