Consultant Parsons Brinckerhoff has won a £56m contract from the Public Works Authority of Qatar, known as Ashgal, to work on the £1bn Qatar Expressway project.

Parsons Brinkerhoff, which is the professional services subsidiary of contractor Balfour Beatty, will carry out the detailed design of approximately 26 kilometres (16 miles) of divided highway including grade separated interchanges and bridges.

It will then provide professional services associated with the tender stage, followed by contract administration and construction supervision on behalf of Ashghal
