Former Multiplex directors buy contracts in London and the South-east

South-east contractor Primus has bought a number of schools and local authority contracts from the administrators of Rok, saving 40 Rok staff.

The contracts, from Rok’s London and South-east business, were purchased for a six-figure sum in a deal signed on Friday.

Primus was set up three years ago by a number of former directors of Multiplex, now at Brookfield, and is headed by Martin Tidd, former Multiplex UK managing director.

The deal will see Primus take on Rok’s Heathrow office. The news comes as Mears today confirmed it has spent £1.5m buying up a number of contracts from Rok in the Bristol area.

Administrators did a £7m deal with Mansell for other parts of the London and South-east business in the week after the Rok collapse.

Contractor ISG has also taken on £100m of former Rok contracts in Scotland.
