RIBA introduces Last Tuesdays monthly night of architecture and design events at its London HQ

The RIBA has announced a new monthly night of events with the Last Tuesdays series. The London headquarters will be open late on the last Tuesday of each month, offering a series of themed special events with a spotlight on architecture and design.  

It will include debates and talks, exhibitions and events such as film screenings and book launches. Each night will celebrate a different theme with a range of special activities and events, as well as offering a chance to visit ongoing exhibitions.

Themes for the upcoming events are:

24 April - Women in Architecture

Exploring female power in architecture and the role that women play in the design of our buildings and public spaces. The film on show will be A Girl Is A Fellow Here: 100 Women Architects in the Studio of Frank Lloyd Wright.

29 May - Jubilee 2012

From castles and barracks to palaces and boulevards, throughout history the British monarch has been a great patron of architecture, but who did it best?

26 June - Play!

Theme of the London Festival of Architecture (23 June - 8 July). This includes various exhibition including Design Stories: The Architecture Behind 2012 and After the Party: The Legacy of Celebration.
