Laing O’Rourke, Costain, Geoffrey Osbourne and Hochtief in battle for £35m job

Contractors Laing O’Rourke, Costain, Geoffrey Osbourne and Hochtief have been shortlisted by Crossrail for the £35m redevelopment of Custom House station.

The station, located in east London, will be the only above ground station on the central section of the new line.

Work on the station includes a new ticket hall, an interchange with the Docklands Light Railway and step-free access between the Crossrail platforms and the street.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2013.
