EMSc (UK) has announced the Powerstar HV MAX, a low-loss amorphous core high voltage transformer

The company says it has a 11,000V input and electronically regulated 380V (or user regulated) output, adding that the product will allow companies to save costs and reduce carbon emissions in both high and low voltage areas. EMSc (UK) suggests it can be used for new-build developments, where it can help achieve sustainability marks and high energy efficiency ratings through accreditations such as LEED.

The company adds that Powerstar HV MAX can be used on sites with older transformers, and those that have been faced with physical space restrictions that make voltage optimisation installations difficult to implement. The system can be adopted by utility companies and is ideal for sites with secure data and critical operations such as office buildings, hotels, hospitals, supermarkets and education facilities.
