Wayne Rooney engages architect to design garden shed

Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney has reportedly engaged architect Pulmann Associates Architects to design him a new garden shed.  

The Cheshire firm, more used to drawing up prestige shopping and residential projects, will now tackle the latest addition to the player’s £4m mansion.

Rooney’s shed, which is 7m by 4m, and 3.25m high, replaces a smaller existing shed that he is knocking down.   

The size of the structure meant the striker was obliged to seek planning permission. This was granted despite objections from neighbours, who claimed the shed was too large and too close to their homes.

A source told The Sun: “It is quite a basic structure. Most people would simply go to a garden centre and buy one. It seems remarkable that you would employ a top firm of architects for a shed.”
